When you are purchasing your baby boy bedding, there is a lot more to think about other than whether or not you go with blue for the color. Sometimes new moms find coming up with bedding ideas for a boy a bit more difficult. However, with these tips, you will be able to find the right bedding for the little boy’s nursery.
Tip #1 – Start with a Budget
First of all, start out with a budget before you start considering the options available for baby boys. You can find baby boy bedding in all different price ranges, so figure out what you can afford. Once you have a budget, stick to it. You can also ask for parts of the bedding for your baby shower too if you have a registry.
Tip #2 – Know How Much You Need
Know how much bedding you need for your baby boy. If you go with a full set you get a fitted sheet, a pillow set, a bumper, the coverlet, dust ruffle, and often other accessories make sure you have room for it all, these days babies are just fine with a single blanket and warm pajamas. Thick bumper are actually not wise when the baby starts to roll over as well, so they will be short lived. All things considered, you might not need this much bedding. Consider going with smaller sets that only include the basics if you are tight on money.
Tip #3 – Consider More Than Just Blue
Blues are traditional for baby boys, but there are many other colors you can choose from when you are looking for baby boy bedding. Don’t get hung up on the traditional blue colors. Another beautiful color is green, which is gender neutral and a relaxing color. A blend of yellow and green is pretty too. Neutrals and warm cocoas also are lovely colors that will go great in a little boy’s room.
Tip #4 – Think About Using a Theme
Last of all, think about using a theme in your little boy’s room as well. Themed baby boy bedding is pretty easy to find. Some of the great themes for little boy rooms can include Disney themes, farmyard themes, cowboy themes, and sports themes.
The hottest baby trends in baby boy bedding right now are geometric patterns in blues, browns, and tans. The colors match well with most things as they grow older making it a very versatile pattern- which is always something to consider with budgeting as well. Repainting and re-doing a room for every age milestone is very costly. Whichever theme or style you choose, your son’s personality and own uniqueness will add to its clever appearance so if you are ready for that swinging monkey or roaring lion, then bring on the safari theme!

I just love how baby boy nurseries have changed over the years since I had my little one. I still look at all the choices in crib bedding from time to time. It kinda makes me want another little one just so I can decorate another nursery!
