Fun Guide to Buying Baby Boy Shoes

Finding the perfect pair of baby boy shoes is not easy. There are many different designs, types, and brands to choose from. Buying the right shoes is all about looking at several factors from fashion, comfort, safety, to whether your baby is walking or not. Let’s take a look into each one to better understand your buying decision.

The most important thing for your baby will be comfort. This is important whether or not your baby is walking yet. You have to keep in mind that baby shoes will be worn for many hours of the day so it’s important that it’s the right fit. To check if it’s comfortable, make sure that it’s not too tight or too loose. If you have a hard time fitting the shoes onto your baby, it may be too tight.

Make sure that the baby boy shoes fit well but have enough space so that you don’t have to struggle in order to take them off. Remember that the laces or straps can always be adjusted in order to make the shoes fit tighter. You can go with either laces or straps. Straps (such as Velcro) will be more comfortable to use but remember if you want your baby to eventually learn how to tie his shoelaces, you should stick to laces. You can stick to straps if your baby has not started walking yet.

The shoes should also make sure that the soles are not too slippery and there are enough cushions on the middle part of the shoes. This will prevent any accidents and will protect your baby’s feet. Try sliding the shoes on the floor to see if they skid before you buy them.

You should then consider the design, color, and overall fashion. If you’re looking for shoes that will last for a long time and be used often, you should stick a design and color that matches many different baby boy outfits. While getting a really unique design and color scheme may be cute, it may only match for a limited number of outfits.

Then you should move on to the issue of safety. You should try to avoid baby boy shoes with any designs that can fall off. You have to keep in mind that your baby may try swallow the design pieces and it can be a choking hazard. So it’s best to keep to shoes that don’t come with anything like tassels, ribbons, and other extras. You may also wish to consider eco-friendly baby shoes as they are soft and friendly to the feet and contain no fake plastic or additional chemical parts.

Finally, you should think about the price in mind when it comes to baby boy shoes. Although you may want the very best for your baby, you shouldn’t overspend on the shoes. Babies grow up fast and you’ll be going through many pairs of shoes so it’s best to keep to your budget since you know you’re going to be spending more money in the future.

Make Your Own Knitted Baby Booties

When you are a new mom, one of the best gifts to receive (besides time) are items that are homemade- whether that means cooking, gifts, or clothing, it always seems to leave a very favorable impression. What could be more special for your brand new baby than having them all dressed up in a handmade pair of booties, a sweater, or wrapped up in a sweet blanket that has been specially knitted by yourself, a friend or a family member.

The art of Knitting is not as difficult as you might think, and it will be a fun hobby you can master while your little one is growing inside you, and you might just find that it will be a great stress reliever to engage in once the baby has arrived. Its a quick trick to pick up and with your newly founded skills you can create some amazing baby gifts, including super sweet baby shoes or booties to cover babies wee little toes when they are exposed to the world. Plus when you create them yourself, you can choose the color, the style, the material, and more, plus your effort and love will literally be sewn into every stitch of the booties themselves.

I am quite sure that you will find knitting to be one of the easiest crafts to learn, even for total beginners never holding a pair of knitting needles before. After a bit of practice it will take just a few hours to create super sweet baby booties, and a few days to create a baby blanket. Think of the money you will save as well creating your own blankets, clothing, and such.

This hobby is great to partake in with other family members as well so you can grow and develop your skills. Just think about when your best friend has a baby and can present her with a pair of baby booties you knitted yourself- as a parent yourself I am sure you know how much this means! Once you have honed your knitting skills you can learn to create more elaborate designs and creations and if you really enjoy the hobby, you can sell your pieces and earn a bit of extra cash or donate your items to babies and families in need, even more of a special gift.

Eco Friendly Super Soft Shoes for Baby

IsaBooties were created when two women (Libby and Laura) went in search of the perfect baby shoe only to be disappointed, so they decided to create their own! And boy are we glad. These shoes are not only very cute and trendy for baby boys (and baby girls) but they are animal free, dye free, eco-friendly, and made using fair labor practices. They are also machine washable… and trust me,  when you have a lil’ one just learning to walk around keeping them clean is a daily task- Isabooties makes it a piece of cake- ok not that I am comparing laundry to cake and all, but you get the idea right?

These shoes are very soft and perfect for babies feet and little ones just learning to walk. Pediatricians have recommended soft soled shoes for babies just starting out walking while their feet are still growing, developing, and gaining strength. Hard soled shoes should be used when they are ready to explore the outside world and might step on something uncomfortable.

IsaBooties are much like socks being that they can be washed but are stronger and more durable all around for fun runs on the grass, jumping around inside, and exploring new territory. They are also a breeze to put on without hassle and can be worn with or without baby socks. I think my son went through 4 pairs at least – and mainly because his feet grew out of the smaller ones- he had really wide feet too and these fit great. Besides all the different styles and colors it’s hard not to love Isabooties and we are thrilled to have such great mompreneurs around to keep our kids feet happy and healthy.

All IsaBooties:

* are 100% animal-free;
* are formaldehyde-free;
* are made in the USA with fair labor;
* use fabrics that far exceed the Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety (ASTM F963-07);
* come in packaging that is recycled/recyclable and printed with soy ink; and
* are 100% machine-washable/machine-dryable just like socks offering a clean, healthy choice in footwear.
